For the one who is gone

Somewhere for them
to be.

An older Cavalier spaniel painted quietly beside the courtyard basin of the Ben Youssef Madrasa — a demonstration portrait
A demonstration portrait. Your photographs decide the animal.

A real place they never reached, painted from the photographs you already have, quietly and without forced celebration. There is no card to enter and no account to make before you see whether it is them.

Begin quietly

First two previews free · Digital portrait €15 · Corrections using the same photo and setting are free

Prints open only when the artwork meets our 300 ppi standard. The digital portrait is available now. Physical sizes remain unavailable until suitable print masters are ready.

In their memory

Take your time.

Begin above, or choose This one is no longer with us when you add their photograph. Add their name and the portrait will be titled In memory of, with the setting you chose.

You can look at the preview before deciding anything. Take time to check the expression and markings you remember. If something needs changing, describe it in the correction box; corrections using the same photo and setting are free.

The photograph

Choosing from what you have.

You cannot take a new one, so the question is which of the old ones. The face matters more than the setting or the quality of the camera: choose the picture where the eyes, nose and ears are clearest and the markings you remember are visible. A photograph from years ago is fine if it is sharp; a recent one taken in a dark room may not be. Daylight helps. Heavy filters and motion blur hurt.

If the only good photograph shows them older, greyer or thinner than you remember, start with it. Choose Not quite to describe a correction, such as his muzzle was still dark or she was heavier than this. Corrections using the same photo and setting are free, but the result may still differ from your memory.

Some photographs cannot be used — a face too small in the frame, a scan too soft to read. Photo checks can flag an unsuitable upload before a preview is used. They cannot catch every problem, so inspect the result before deciding to keep it. The photo guide shows what works, with real before-and-after pairs.

If it is not them

You are the only judge that counts.

Look at the eyes first, then the markings, then the ears and paws. If anything is wrong, write it in the box under the painting — the white was only on his left front leg, her nose was black, not brown — to request a correction. Corrections using the same photo and setting are free. Another photo or setting uses a new preview. AI results can still vary; contact the studio if the likeness remains wrong.

A portrait of them should look like them. Take your time checking the details; corrections using the same photo and setting are free. For help with a digital portrait or an existing print order, the support desk is answered by a person.

Where

Choosing the place.

People usually choose one of two ways: the place that looks most like where they were happy — a garden, a wall in the sun, a quiet courtyard — or the place they would have taken them. The stillest scenes are Le Jardin Secret, the Ben Youssef courtyard and the plain adobe wall, which is nothing but the animal and warm light. For a dog who loved to walk, the ramparts at sunset and the palm grove give them ground to stand on.

The Study painting style — soft light, subtle brushwork, clear eyes — is the one made for a keepsake. All seventeen places are real, at their true coordinates.

What you receive

The file, and what to do with it.

For €15, you receive a 1024 × 1536 pixel portrait without a watermark. Download it after payment is confirmed; a download link is also emailed. Keep it privately or share it with the people who knew them. For your own printing, that resolution supports about 8.7 × 13 cm at 300 ppi, rather than a large wall print. The link in the email works for thirty days; after that the painting is still yours — open your order or your studio and download it again. Prints and framing through the studio follow their own availability.

If you are making this for someone else who has lost a pet, the studio can be used on their behalf with a photograph they give you; ask them to review the preview with you before deciding to keep it.

Questions people ask

Will it be sold to me as something it is not?
No. Until your own painting exists, every example on this site is labelled as a demonstration and never as your animal. The preview you see is watermarked and made from your photograph. The painting is made by an image model guided by that photograph and our composition for the place; it is not a hand-painted commission, and we do not describe it as one.
Can I include something of theirs — a collar, a scarf?
If their collar matters, check it in the preview and request a correction if needed. The studio’s styling choices add a silk foulard, a strand of pearls or old silver if you want them, or nothing at all; Just them is the default.
Two of them are gone. Can they be together?
Each portrait features one pet. Choose the same place and painting style for a matching pair of digital portraits. Each is purchased separately.
