About this piece

Families still send their dough to the neighbourhood oven and a boy carries the board. The loaves are round, they are carried above the head, and they come back at a different hour than they left — so making them the phases of the moon required almost no invention. The Islamic calendar is lunar; so is the bread run.

Composed here, from a brief we wrote, in the manner of mid-century photomontage. Nothing in it is taken from anybody else’s collage — which is why we can sell it to you, and why it can be recoloured to your room without asking anyone’s permission.
