About this piece
The square at dusk is the loudest place in Morocco and the ghaita cuts through all of it — a double reed, held long. Here the note is drawn as a rising ribbon that thickens, squares off, and finishes as the Koutoubia's stonework against the sky. The minaret has been the thing you navigate by since 1195, and the sound carries about as far.

Composed here, from a brief we wrote, in the manner of mid-century photomontage. Nothing in it is taken from anybody else’s collage — which is why we can sell it to you, and why it can be recoloured to your room without asking anyone’s permission.
