A Guéliz Café Terrace
This one is not a monument. It is a street-level café terrace in Guéliz at the end of the afternoon: rattan chairs, a striped awning, a brass tray with a silver teapot, mint tea poured from a height so it froths in the glass, and the particular Moroccan patience of sitting two hours over one drink while the Atlas turns pink at the end of the street.
Every visitor to the new town has sat at this table. That is the point of it.

We paint the terrace at the warm end of the afternoon, as the sun drops down the avenue and the ochre buildings hold the last of it. The awning is above, the tea is on the table, and your pet sits upright on the rattan chair as if waiting to be served, a quietly comic scene, painted completely straight.
